Scotiabank to Examine the Impact of the Economic Crisis at the 32nd Annual Miami Conference on the Caribbean and Central America Washington, D.C.–CCAA is pleased to announce that Scotiabank, a lead sponsor of the 32nd Annual Miami Conference on the Caribbean and Central America, will host a Breakfast Briefing for Conference participants on December 2, 2008. Pablo F.G. Bréard, Vice President-Head of International Research for Scotiabank Group Canada, will be leading the briefing on “Global Financial Crisis: Emerging Markets Circa 2010”. As the global economy enters 2009, major macroeconomic imbalances are present in developed and developing economies. The process of adjustment to these imbalances has triggered economic and financial shocks which deserve careful attention and rigorous monitoring. The developing countries in the Americas are not immune to adverse global developments. Global investors as well as government leaders must manage these shocks effectively so that the process of growth and development is not interrupted in the region. The global financial outlook should be understood by everyone involved in regional trade and development. This event will provide Conference participants with the perspective of an institution that has over 100 years of expertise in finance and banking in the Caribbean and Central America. This briefing is open to all Conference Participants; however, RSVP’s are requested to ensure availability of seating and materials. Please send an e-mail to info@c-caa.org with the number of people in your party that will be attending not later than November 30, 2008.
